Pintura R. Ansdell - - An original oil on board painting by the British artist Richard Ansdell R.A. (1815-1885), titled ‘The Grand Assembly’, unsigned. Depicting a large gathering of goats and sheep inspecting a cannon on the top of a cliff, with three girls seated on the left. Circa 1850. Framed with brass plaque to front inscribed ” ‘The Grand Assembly’ Richard Ansdell R.A. (Royal Academy 1850)??. Board with information tag to rear from The Pulitzer Gallery (S. Kensington High Street, London. W.B.) with Catalogue no. 31 March, 1959 Exhibition. Gallery No. 949. Condition: overall poor, damage to edges of board and loss to corners. Loss to paint on sections of the sky. Yellowing to varnish. Extensive damage to the frame. Dim: board 31x45cm /frame 44x59cm
