Cuzco School Painting
- An antique religious Cuzco School painting oil on canvas depicting Our Virgin of
the Pilgrims, originally from South America.
We believe depicts The Virgin from Pomata with Christ Child.
The cult of the Virgin was very pronounced
during the time of the Viceroy and is still
today in Catholicism in South America.
As she is not wearing a crown it is
likely the Virgin has been cast into a more
humble role as the patron saint of another
group.
In rustic frame.
Circa 19th century.
Condition : Used, signs of previous professional repair, overall good.
