Exceptional Vase, Finely Carved in Organic Material w/ Lid Carved in Tsuba Figure, Japan, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
Tastefully crafted vase, carved in organic material in patterns embossed by a 3D negative carving integrated with polychrome enamel lacquer decorations in organic models and Japanese motifs, on its upper part a pair of elements carved in the figure of a Hannya Mask, with an open mouth with a tangling red tongue and gilded eyes, the lid is sculpted in a Tsuba form of a Katana Sword and the hole connecting the Tsuba blade is decorated in a model of Lotus leaves, marked on base on red reserve, Meiji Period (1868-1912).
