Original vintage advertising poster for Bovril - Take care of yourself - Take Bovril - Bold black lettering set over a white background with black borders on the sides. Bovril was developed in the 1870s by John Lawson Johnston - it is a thick and salty beef meat extract paste sold both in jars and cubes, and can be diluted with water or milk to make a beefy hot drink, added to recipes when cooking, or used as a spread.
