ANTIQUE 1895 GEORGE BARRIE COLOR TYPOGRAVURE
An antique American 19th century Chromo Typogravure print depicting Native American people in traditional dress on the Smithsonian Exhibition. Marked: Copyrighted 1895 by George Barrie. Matted. George Barrie, from 1893 to 1895 was the Philadelphia printer and publisher, and worked upon a large and lavish series of original etchings and chromolithographs detailing exhibits of the fine art from participating countries at the Worlds Columbian Exposition. Barrie hired some of the finest etchers of the time, the majority being either French or American, to work on the series. Antique American Graphic Art, Prints And Multiples For Collectors.
