JAPANESE WOOD BLOCK PRINT BY UTAGAWA HIROSHIGE
Utagawa Hiroshige II, Japanese, 1826 to 1869, color wood block print on paper, Pale Blue Cherry Blossoms at Tennoji in Yanaka, no. 7 from the series Thirty six Flowers at Famous Places in Tokyo. Red stamps and inscribed with hieroglyphs upper and lower right. Matted. Utagawa Hiroshige II was a Japanese designer of ukiyo e art. He inherited the name Hiroshige II following the death in 1858 of his master Hiroshige. In 1865 he moved from Edo to Yokohama after dissolving his marriage and began using the name Kisai Rissho.
