RUSSIAN SILVER AND GUILLOCHE CASKET WITH GRIFFINS
A Russian Neoclassical silver footed casket with a hinged lid. The front side of the case is decorated with two figurative griffins. Laurel wreath-shaped rings are mounted on the sides. The cover is garnished with a gilt medallion with blue and white guilloche enamel surface. A floral ornament and imperial crown set with crystals decorate its central part. The medallion is flanked by two figurative torches. The inside of the casket is gilt. Hallmark 84 silver standard and makers mark are on the inside. Total weight: 608 grams.
