An Italian Florentine school oil painting on canvas glued to board depicting a head of a woman, probably Madonna, in the manner of School van Fra Filippo Lippi, after the original painting, Madonna and The Child. Framed. Circa: early 20th century. Fra Filippo di Tommaso Lippi, 1406 to 1469, was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance. One of the most prominent representatives of the Florentine school of the Quattrocento period. Botticellis teacher. The name of Lippi is associated with several technical innovations important for the history of Italian painting. One of a kind artwork.
