Mussa Yassul Halil Bey, Dagestan, German, 1896 to 1949, oil painting on board depicting a portrait of a woman, probably, Dorothee Werner, 1947. Signed and dated upper right. Additionally signed, dated and inscribed on the backside. Framed. Halil Bey Mussa Yassul is a portrait artist from Dagestan, based in Munich. He is know for female portrait paintings in the manner of Turkish school. He marries Baroness Melanie Von Nagel. The couple moved to New York in the 1940s, where Mussa Yassul Halil Bey continued his career as a painter. One of a kind artwork.
