An antique Japanese ink and color on silk scroll painting after Ito Jakuchu, 1716 to 1800, depicting a rooster and his family. Signed lower left and upper right. The numerous extant paintings of chickens and roosters by Ito Jakuchu include a number of heavily pigmented examples which focus on the interactions between the members of a feathered family.
