Julian Alden Weir, American, 1852 to 1919, oil painting on canvas depictting a still life with flowers adorned with a curtain. Signed lower left. Framed. Provenance: Akiba Galleries, Dania Beach, FL, United States, November 22, 2022, lot 542. Julian Alden Weir was an American impressionist painter and member of the Cos Cob Art Colony near Greenwich, Connecticut. Weir was also one of the founding members of The Ten, a loosely allied group of American artists dissatisfied with professional art organizations, who banded together in 1898 to exhibit their works as a stylistically unified group. J Weir is known for Impressionist landscape, portrait, and still life painting. One of a kind artwork.
