A Modern patinated bronze sculpture, Flat Torso, after the original bronze sculpture, 1914, by Alexander Archipenko, Russian, Ukrainian, American, French, 1887 to 1964. Mounted on a round shaped base. Circa: mid to the late 20th century. Signed and dated, Archipenko 1935, and numbered 1 of 8, on the base. Mounted on a rectangular shaped black granite stand. The School of Paris is a shorthand for several generations of an international community of artists who settled in Paris from the 1900s to the 1960s. Alexander Archipenko was an outstanding Ukrainian born, Russian, French, American avant garde artist and sculptor, one of the greatest masters of cubism. Alexander Archipenko used voids in his works in an original way and skillfully mixed different genres, and also created many works in the styles of realism and constructivism.
