An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon of Saint Nicholas of Myra, one of the most celebrated saints of the Orhodox church. Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary are depicted on the sides. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Brass riza or oklad with ornamental repousse decor. Characters are named in Church Slavonic.
