ANTIQUE JAPAN MEIJI ERA MILITARY WOODBLOCK PRINT
Nobukazu Yosai, 1872 to 1944, an original Japanese Meiji era Ukiyo-e military woodblock triptych Triumphal Return of Victorious Japanese Imperial Army from Asan, from the series The First Sino and Japanese War published by Tsunashima Kamekichi circa 1894. Note: Nobukazu Yosai was a late 19th century Japanese woodblock print artist who in a variety of genres including war and rebellion prints known as senso-e. Battle triptychs were produced in large numbers during the Sino-Japanese (1894 - 1895) and Russo-Japanese wars (1904 - 1905).
