FRENCH ARISTOCRATIC LITHOGRAPH AFTER LUCIUS ROSSI
A vintage color lithograph on paper depicting an interior scene with a romantic couple after the original oil painting, The Kiss, by Lucius Rossi, French, Italian, 1846 to 1913. Signed in the print, lower left. Framed. Lucius Rossi is known for Aristocratic figure and portrait painting. Lucius Rossi was an Italian portrait and figure painter who has worked and lived in Paris. He first followed an artistic training in the Roma’s Academy San Luca. Then he was strongly influenced by the imagination and the emotion of the Romantic painters, and also charmed by the technique of the Spanish artist Maria Fortuny, settled in Roma between 1857 and 1859. His artwork, full of fragility, is characterized by his sense of details. The feminine figure is one of his recurrent themes.
