ANTIQUE MEIJI ERA JAPANESE CLOISONNE ENAMEL PLATE
An antique Japanese, Meiji era, enamel over copper plate or charger. The interior of the plate is adorned with polychrome enamel images of fans, a Phoenix bird, flowers, scrolls, reticulated and geometrical motifs on the yellow ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The borders are decorated with a cloud motif on the dark blue ground made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with foliage, floral, and cloud ornaments on the yellow and dark blue ground made in the Cloisonne technique. marked with calligraphy, on the backside.
