Watercolor and pastel painting on paper by John Marin, 1870 to 1953, an early American Modernist artist known for his landscapes. The artwork depicts a panoramic view of Venice, Italy. Titled Grand Canal at Sunset. Dated 1918, Venizia of Murano on the backside. Signed by the artist in the lower left. Provenance: Maison de Vente aux Encheres Chativesle, Paris; Private Collection, CA. White mat, golden frame. Collectible Graphic Art, Nautical Landscape Painting, Venetian Veduta.
