RUSSIAN GOUACHE PAINTING BY EUGENE LANCERAY MATTED
Eugene Lanceray, 1875 to 1946, Russian, gouache painting on paper depicting a mullah climbing a horse. Presumably, it features a sketch for a book illustration. Signed by the artist lower right and on the backside. Handwritten notes on the matting. Eugene Lanceray was a graphic artist, painter, sculptor, mosaicist, and illustrator, associated stylistically with the Mir iskusstva movement, brother of the painter Zinaida Serebriakova.
