ANTIQUE JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT BY KYUHO NODA
Kyuho Noda, Japanese, 1879 to 1971, an original antique Taisho era ukiyo e color woodblock print on paper, Pirate Dai Chikamatsu Zenshu, 1923 to 1926. From the supplement of Dai Chikamatsu Zenshu, The Complete Works of Chikamatsu. Pirate Kezori Kyuemon in the play, Hakata Kojoro Nami Makura. Signed with Calligraphy, lower right. Noda Kyuho, given name Dosan, was born in Tokyo in 1879. He studied Japanese-style painting with Kogyo Terazaki and Western style painting at Hakubakai, The White Horse Society.
