Max Weber, Russian, French, American, 1881 to 1961, patinated bronze sculpture, Profile 1, Bust of a Man. Circa: 1959. Mounted on a round shaped base. Signed, and marked, Roman Bronze Works N.Y., under the base. Max Weber is known for Cubist, futurist and fauvist painting-landscape, figure and still life. Max Weber was a major proponent of Modernism in his paintings and sculpture. He explored Cubism, Futurism and Abstraction in his art. Profile reflects Webers firsthand knowledge of the work of Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse, which he had seen in Paris when he studied there from 1905 to 1908.
