VIETNAMESE PORTRAIT ACRYLIC PAINTING BY MAI THU
Acrylic on board painting by Mai Trung Thu, 1906 to 1980, a Vietnamese artist based in France, member of the first class of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de l Indochine in Hanoi along with Le Pho. The artwork depicts a portrait of a woman with a dog. Ca. 1950s to 1960s. Artists signature and seal in the lower left. Wooden frame. Main subjects of Mai Thu were women, children and daily life, incorporating traditional Vietnamese conceptions about fine and folk arts. Collectible Oriental Fine Art, Southeast Asian Artists.
