NISHAPUR POTTERY DISH WITH PSEUDO INSCRIPTIONS
Ca. AD 900 - 1000A Nishapur glazed pottery bowl with white background and decorated with black pseudo inscription in the top of the walls. The body has a conical shape and seats on a short discoid foot. The Nishapur production was one of the most important of ninth century for all of the mediterranean area. This production was the Islamic dynasties' response to the growing demand for luxury goods from a market developed through the new collaborations between Islam and Christianity.
