RARE EGYPTIAN ALABASTER ROYAL SHABTI OF AMENHOTEP III THE MAGNIFICENT
18th Dynasty, Ca. 1360 - 1349 BC. An Exceptional alabaster royal shabti of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III "The Magnificent". The Pharaoh is depicted as Osiris and is holding a crook and flail in his crossed hands. The torso is inscribed with six partial columns of Chapter 6 from the Egyptian Book of the Dead. The shabti originates from the tomb of the Pharoh, Thebes, Valley of the Kings, KV22. Discovered in 1799 by Napoleon. Size: 165mm x 65mm; Weight: 390g.Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Christie's, London, King Street Antiquities, 25 April 2007m sale 7376, Lot 88. The tomb was discovered in 1799 by Napoleon. This piece is accompanied by full authentication report by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
