Third Intermediate Period, Ca. 1069 - 664 BC.An Egyptian faience amulet depicting a wedjat, "Eye of Horus, " an ancient ocular symbol of protection. Embellished with a brilliant, azure-hued glaze intended to represent the waters of the Nile. The amulet features thick black pigment delineating the pupil, as well as a lateral drill hole for suspension.
