COLLECTION OF WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZE STAMP SEALS - WITH ORIGINAL PROF. LAMBERT REPORT
Ca. 2300 - 1700 BC. A collection of six bronze stamp seals. One example has a round face with a linear design enclosed within an outer rim, divided by a central bending line and filled with spirals on each side. Another bears a simple cross rendered in raised lines within a circular border. A third shows two opposed crescents on a flat, compartmented face with a slightly convex back. One seal is characterised by a scalloped circular outline and an abstract central design surrounded by a ring of raised lumps and a pierced lug. Another presents a rosette motif with four petals radiating around a central dot, while the final seal depicts a three-compartment arrangement containing a crawling insect with a dot in each section.Size: 14-26mm x 14-26mm; Weight: 30gProvenance: Private London collection; previously in a 1980s Mayfair Family private collection.
