Satish Joshi is known as a visual artist with a substantial exhibition history and a master teacher who has touched generations of students. His paintings are characterized by his distinctive use of surface impasto, which bring an instantly recognizable signature to his paintings as well as his monotype prints, and correlates them to his three dimensional work in metal and stone. His work has been exhibited through the USA and his native India. As a distinguished teacher he served for nearly four decades as a member and Chair of the Riverdale Country Day School Visual Arts Department, where the two school campuses now host four of his monumental-scale limestone and marble figurative pieces and several abstract works in metal and stone. He is currently the Artist-in-Residence at School of the Holy Child in Rye, New York.
