(Anton Pieck was a Dutch artist and designer known for his illustrations of magical scenes. His unique style captured a view of traditional Dutch city life with delicate lines and a sophisticated use of color. Over time, his prints became so popular they were often reproduced on stationery. Born on April 19, 1895 in Den Helder, Netherlands, the artist is responsible for helping to found and conceive the aesthetics of Efteling, a fantasy theme park in Kaatsheuval, during the early 1950s. His commercial art practice extended into publishing, with Pieck contributing his drawings for several illustrated children’s books. He died November 24, 1987 in Overveen, Netherlands at the age of 92. Today, the artist’s workstation, personal possessions, and artworks can be seen at the Anton Pieck Museum in Hattem, Netherlands)
