(Babbacombe Pottery was founded in 1952 by Edwin Barrett making traditional Torquay motto ware and a variety of contemporary decorative designs by traditional methods. During this time special pottery was produced by their top decorator Deirdre Wood with geometric, fish or other designs, much of it signed by Deirdre. Later under three more owners using different business names the pottery adapted using slip moulded items to meet the changing demands of the public. The pottery finally closed at the Babbacombe site in 2002.)
