Kathe Kollwitz (1867-1945) Etching Re-Strike
Kathe Schmidt Kollwitz (1867-1945) etching re strike (999) is titled "Self Portrait". She was active in Germany and Russia and known for lithography, woodcut-figures and Etchings. The art was originally purchased from Graphics Gallery Philadelphia (as tag reads on back). The art is from the estate of Benjamin Franklin Hammond, PhD. Dr. Hammond was "an emeritus professor of microbiology in University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine and the school’s former associate dean of academic affairs" (source: University of Pennsylvania's Almanac). Image measures approx. 5"x6.5".
