Altar with Ganesh Southern India, Maharashastra, 18th century Meas: 10 X 5.5. X h. 16 cm - Bronze casting with dark patina depicting Ganesh seated in rajalilasana on a tiered base. The elephantine-headed deity is depicted with four arms, the hands of the two secondary ones brandishing attributes, while the main ones display mudras. The elaborate removable torana on the back ends with a cusp in the form of a lion's head, while a canopy formed by five snakes emerges from its central area.
