plate from 'Traité d'anatomie et de physiologie' by Félix Vicq-D'Azyr, published in Paris in 1786. Accompanied by the following page with the description of the allegory.
Printed in the manière de lavis technique, allowing to put delicate layers of various colors on the plate. The technique was commonly used by French artists in the last decades of the 18th century.
Light foxing on the reverse. Slightly burnished edges. A small hole and an abrasion at the top. Otherwise in very good condition.
