A 'SHIBAYAMA' STYLE MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID IVORY VASE
Japan, Meiji period
The section of the tusk decorated on the outside with iridescent mother-of-pearl and metal inlays with 'bird and flowers' compositions, supported by a carved wood pedestal with four curved legs, the mark 政之. (Masano) incised on a square metal cartouche.
