Sterling silver and ivory Liberty american bookmark - 1890-1910
elephant ivory bookmark (Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758 or Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797) carved with an owl, books and an oil lamp on a ribbon background, the handle with a sterling silver decoration depicting a mythological animal between foliate scrolls. Hallmarked “Sterling” and signed.
Height x width: 20.5 x 3.5 cm. Weight 29 g.
