Italian silver basin - Naples, 1832-1872 of circular form resting on a shallow stepped foot, the body marked by vertical ribs and a moulded rim; in the centre a marquis coat-of-arms composed of a ””modern Samnite shield”” with a crowned two-headed eagle in the lower field; a crown placed above the shield itself. Hallmarked by the guild of goldsmiths of Naples for a silver fineness of 833/1000, 1832-1872, and with the hallmark of an unidentified silversmith already found on a coffee service with the same hallmarks.
