Namban Art
lacquer coated wood sprinkled with ray skin teeth and black lacquer
mother-of-pearl friezes, stripes with mother-of-pearl inlays and gold paintings "Triangles" and "Squares placed corner-to-corner", interior fully lacquered with black lacquer, cover interior with gold and silver painting "Branches of beans from Japan", scalloped, engraved and pierced copper mounts
nippo-portuguese - Momoyama period (1573-1615)
huge fault in one of the lacquer back coatings, faults and defects, upper part of the lock's escutcheon, lock's latch, side handle rings and one of the later small escutcheons (which hide, on the inside, the spikes of the handle fixing rings
