Notes: a pair of ivory plaques of the same shape and very similar dimensions, identified as depicting the Second Punic War, were sold for €6,343 at Bonhams, London - https://www.bonhams.com/auction/19587/lot/207/a-large-pair-of-late-19th-century-german-ivory-rel iefs-depicting-scenes-from-the-second-punic-war/ accessed on 1-02-20255 at 10:22. a) This lot is subject to CITES export/import restrictions and is duly certified: No. 24PTLX06356C; b) The import of goods incorporating materials from protected species of wild fauna and flora, including, among others, ivory, coral and tortoiseshell, is currently prohibited by several countries; c) In Portugal, in accordance with the planned transposition into national legislation of the most recent EU guidelines on the ivory trade, the issuing of re-export certificates to non-EU countries is suspended; d) In this context, potential buyers are advised to inform themselves in advance about the legislation of their country and applicable international restrictions.
