This vintage quilt from the 1930s is definitely an original design with elements from 19th century quilts. The quilt measures 69 x 79". Comprised of 4 blocks, 32 x 33", set straight, 2 x 2, with 4 inch blue sashing and horizontal borders. The block consists of an appliquéd blue circle in the center with a Dresden plate ring of 1930s feedsack prints 11" in diameter, inside another feedsack print Dresden plate style ring 19" in diameter. There are 4 Coxcomb style flowers at each quadrant comprised of a purple and pink solid fabrics and more 1930s feedsack print fabrics in the Dresden plate style piecing technique. Each flower has a floating leaf on either side. It is hand pieced hand appliquéd and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with and applied white cotton fabric binding. It is in good condition with several small spots and some of the feed sack Prince have faded. Definitely a one-of-a-kind and graphic quilt. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
