Five high quality lithographs Tablets by A Leloir, Publishing. Vallet lith. From the first edition of the Bible and Estampes - a Experimental storytelling for children published in Paris in 1860.
From the early books that described the children's Bible stories in lithographs. From the beginning of the invention of lithographic printing some 60 years earlier [in 1796] printers preferred to provide the complex process of lithographic printing to the interest of adults, rather than risk printing pictures intended for children that might soon be destroyed usual in children's books.
The lithographs depict different scenes from Genesis and Exodus: Joseph and his brothers, David and Goliath, Elazar and Rivka, the expulsion from the Garden of Eden, Moses casting the tablets.
