Collection with 33 volumes of this periodical that had a total of 1315 issues published over 38 years of edition and that marked as a school of engravers in Portugal. Driven by Caetano Alberto da Silva and Manuel de Macedo, the first engraver, the second designer, O Occidente supported itself in an engraver training workshop so that the product would be 100% national, without resorting to any foreign engraver, to be able to to respond to the image needs that were part of the magazine's program. In addition to the graphic apparatus, the magazine enjoyed the literary collaboration of the most important intellectuals of the time, being very diverse in its contents. Rare and important.
