First edition. António Bocarro (1594-1642?) was a high official in Portuguese India. General chronicler of India and chief guard of the Torre do Tombo in Goa, a position in which he advanced the archival work, paralyzed since the death of Diogo do Couto. As a chronicler, he wrote the continuation of the Barros and Couto Decades, until 1617, and only in this edition were published, also leaving a description of the Portuguese fortresses and lands in the East, including some in East Africa. Rare.
