Começãdo na cidade de Badajoz em Castella, te à de Milam em Italia, cõ alguas outras obras, cujo catalogo vai scripto com os nomes dos dictos lugares, na folha seguinte. Coimbra: Por Ioã Alvarez, 1561.

Work composed by: ff. preliminaries: front., board, "Catalog of main places ...", dedication, To the Reader, Approval; text beginning with the description of Badajoz, ending with the colophon (vo. in br.) on fol. 248 (unnumbered); on its own frontispiece: "COMMENTARIVS de Ophyra Regione apvd Divinam scripturam cõmemorata ...", Conimbricae, Per Ioannem Aluaru, 1561, which occupies 28 ff. following numbers, ending with "Laus Deo"; on its own frontispiece: "GARSIAS Menesivs Eborensis praeful, quum Lusitaniae regisinclyti legatus ...", Conimbricae, Apud Ioãnem Aluarum, 1561, which occupies 14 ff. numbered ones, ending with "LAVS DEO" on fol. [14] (vo. in br.); on its own frontispiece: "CENSVRAS by Gaspar Barreiros on Qvatro Liuros titled in M. Portio Catam de Originibus, in Beroso Chaldaeo, in Manethon Aegyptio, & in Q. Fabio Pictor Romano, In Coimbra, Per Ioam Aluares, 1561, ending with the colophon ; blank page. Father Gaspar Barreiros (?-1574), João de Barros' nephew, is considered one of the best Portuguese classical writers. In this pioneering travel book, he describes the journey he undertook through Spain, the South of France and Northern Italy. The section "Commentaria de Ohyra regione..." contains references to Columbus and other discoverers of the American continent, where Ophir, the mysterious land of Gold, was traditionally located.
