Mendes dos Remédios dedicated much of his study to the Jews in Portugal. This work of yours, a Dissertation presented for a competition for teaching at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Coimbra, deals with the history of this people in Portugal since the early days of the presence of the Germanic peoples in the Peninsula. With chapters dedicated to its social, legal and economic structure, reasons for people's hatred, non-Jewish apologists, etc. The work met a second volume published in 1928 and with a very limited edition. Very rare.
