One of the most interesting and beautiful editions of our greatest poem, richly printed on superior paper, decorated with beautiful engravings, including those that open each of the corners in color, ordered to be published by Emílio Biel, known for being one of the introducers of photography in Portugal. Born in Armaberg, Germany, he came to Porto in 1860 founding a notable lithographic workshop. In addition to this amazing and monumental edition, he was also known for the publication of the work Arte e Natureza em Portugal. To the graphic apparatus, this edition adds interest to the introduction by José Gomes Monteiro, also responsible for the notes with Barreto Feio, as well as an Appendix containing a comparative table of the variants of the two editions of 1572 and a text entitled Camões e Os Lusíadas by Mendes Leal. Rare and treasured.
