First edition of the book of memoirs by Ratton, a businessman based in Portugal at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century, who worked alongside the Marquis of Pombal and the highest figures in national politics and economics at the time. It is illustrated with a portrait of the author and a large fold-out map with the “Topographic plan of the land adjacent to the Rio das Enguias and its course from the port of Barroca d'alva to its mouth on the Tagus”.
