An interesting look from the first President of the Portuguese Republic on his presidential mandate that ended on May 26, 1915. This work is written shortly after his replacement by Teófilo Braga, due to “the fear of disappearing, from one moment to another, due to the our great age and the very precarious state of our health”. What would, in fact, happen in the year following the publication of this book.
