MAJOR GENERAL HAROLD W. BLAKELY WAR MAPS (7)
Collection of seven war maps once owned by Major General HAROLD W. BLAKELEY (1893-1966), Commanding Officer Artillery, 4th Infantry Division during the Battle of Normandy and Commanding General 4th Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge until the end of the war in Europe. The maps, most likely used during the campaigns. According to the consignor these maps were retained by Blakeley's aide-de-camp, Capt. Roswell F. MacGillivray. The maps show Central Europe and each focus on one city, Salzwedel (Sheet M5), Almelo (Sheet N1), Soltau (Sheet M4), Bremerhaven (Sheet L3), Hanover (Sheet N4), Bremen (Sheet M3), and Osnabruck (Sheet N2). Dated between 1943 and 1945. Each map is approximately 30 x 25 inches. Usual map folds, excellent grouping.
