Aníbal Alcino (1926) was born in Santa Maria da Feira. He studied at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto, where he studied Painting. Here, he received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, during the years 1963 and 1964, which he would spend in Madrid. He was a member of the group “Os Independentes” where he began exhibiting modern art. He collaborated with Júlio Pomar at Jornal de Notícias and wrote art reviews for other newspapers and magazines. He has exhibited individually since 1939. His works can be found in public and private collections.
