The Kamigata region, which at that time had an older tradition of art and culture than the Edo region (present day Tokyo), produced distinctive woodblock prints. With a realistic quality, the woddblocks expressed the true character of its subjects, which were mainly the leading Kabuki actors of that time.

In good condition. Diptych composed of 2 loose prints (the right one is slightly stained).
