Mozambique. Zambézia. Letter from the Fletcher Jones archive, written in St Johns Wood, in England, franked with a stamp of 2 1/2d, dated December 28, 1900, destined for Fort Jameson, in Northern Rhodesia. Arrived in Beira on January 31, 1901, has a mark from the Portuguese post office of Chinde on February 3, from the British post office of Chinde on February 4. From Chinde it traveled by one of the Zambezi ships to Zomba, where it was marked on February 18 and then Fort Jameson on March 1, a journey of 2 months duration. It clarifies the interconnection between the Portuguese and English posts in Chinde.
