Gold and Carved Gemstone Pendant - Purple Buddha Wearing a Monk's Hat with a Chinese Letter / Symbol. – Jade? Chinese amethyst?
A hand-carved purple gemstone in the form of the Buddha wearing a gold monk's hat. On the back of the figure is a Chinese symbol, letter, or word.
Height without the loop 2.5 cm. Total weight 4.7 grams. The pendant loop is stamped 14K
Very good overall condition, the defect on the top of the hat is due to a small stone that was set in the top and came loose.
The seller does not remember/know for sure the origin of this tiny treasure. However, there is a chance that it's from a trip her great-grandfather made to the Far East in the last decade of the 19th century.
